We Are WPBRadio.com: National Stars Bring CW's "THE NEXT" to Baltimore!!

Just as countless aspiring musicians are constantly vying for stardom, music talent competitions are currently crowding the airwaves attempting to grabAmerican Idol’s declining audience. Soon, one of them will be The Next: Fame Is At Your Doorstep on The CW. Right now, the show is crisscrossing the country to film episodes to air in the fall, with a stop in Baltimore this week. On Tuesday night, the show will be taping at the Hippodrome. And on Tuesday morning, one of The Next‘s celebrity judges, multi-platinum rapper Nelly, will be appearing at a meet-and-greet where tickets for the taping will be given away.

From 9 to 11a.m. this past Tuesday, July 17th, the Nelly meet-and-greet was held at the Cricket Wireless location at 9 Eutaw Street, where attendees will have a chance to win tickets for the taping that evening at the Hippodrome. The Hippodrome audience will vote live to choose a contestant to send to the show’s finals in Los Angeles. The Next airs on The CW network this fall, with celebrity mentors Nelly, Joe Jonas, Gloria Estefan and John Rich. Nelly also hit up Baltimore's 92Q radio station this week to have a chit chat about rumors. Apparently Nelly has been pegged as a coke head...and even though he's been spotted around his home town of St. Louis with Ashanti, he's rumored to have fallen out with her over money.

Nelly cleared up a few rumors yesterday during his interview on Baltimore's 92Q on "The KO Show."

About those rumors he's heavily into cocaine and heavy drug use, he denied it saying he's "bad drug free." Alrighty. Even if he was taking sniffs....would he really admit it?

And about his 10+ year relationship with Ashanti that he still refuses to outright claim, he kept up the coyness. After the radio host brought up the fact that we saw pics of the twosome chillin' around St. Louis as recent as a few weeks ago, Nelly responded, "We're pretty cool."

Well isn't that romantic...Considering the fact that she was INDEED in Baltimore as well!!

There were also some rumors about Nelly Ashanti "breaking up" due to Nelly owing her $500,000. Aside from the fact that sounds totally foolish (we know somebody's about to ask if Ashanti had half a million to lend to him in the first place), it's pretty clear this rumor is false. Nelly laughed...hard...about it. And said him owing Ashanti money is indeed false.
